Purchased: Dec 2006
Best Before: April 2007
Cooked: Microwave
Lit up: No
Cream or Custard: Both!
Packaging: Cardboard box and plastic tub
Appearance: Flat top, typical shiny pud
Texture: Just on the firm side of "just right". Fruity.
Taste: It was a delight that the CCCPC could come together once again to taste a pud. It was nice to be able to open one of the large puds on my top shelf too. The tasting did not disappoint and it was a lovely pudding overall. The best desciption was that it was fruity. The alcohol was not overpowering for once and both C and C agreed this was a worthy Christmas pudding.

Waitrose Richly Fruited Christmas Pudding with Remy Martin 454g
Purchased: Dec 2005Best Before: April 2007
Cooked: Microwave
Lit up: No
Cream or Custard: Cream
Packaging: Cardboard sleeve in orange and plastic tub
Appearance: Rounded top, glistens in the light!
Texture: Fairly firm, whilst still fairly moist. Reasonable blend of fruit and nuts.
Taste: Initially very good, but tailed off slightly. Quite alcoholic, which slightly spoils the flavour later on. This encourages me to stick more cream on to balance it out! Overall fairly solid taste. I might prefer something a little more nutty.
Score: 6/10

Christmas Pud Blogging
I rather like Christmas pudding and each year buy several that then sit on top of a kitchen cupboard and get eaten during the year or in a couple of years time! A couple of years ago I sat down with a friend and we did a taste test to see which Harrod's Christmas pudding was the best, having bought one at each price point in the post Christmas sale. What we discovered was alarming - Harrod's Christmas puddings were actually very poor and in fact the cheapest was the best and the most expensive the worst, only receiving praise for it's nicer packaging.
Here I hope to write some reviews of Christmas puddings throughout the year(s) as I eat them. I hope to develop some consistency in the way I review them and learn a bit about what I like the most myself...
